Todd Chrisley is speaking out about rumors that he’s now “broke” following his release from prison earlier this year.
During a joint interview on Nightline with wife Julie and daughter Savannah Chrisley, The Chrisleys: Back to Reality star, 57, shut down speculation that he was struggling financially.
“You know a lot of people think you’re broke now and that your life is going to be completely different,” anchor Juju Chang said, to which Todd responded, “Where would they get that? Where would you get that? Do you know how much is in my bank account?”
“No. Would you like to tell me?” Chang asked. After Todd declined, he clarified, “But, it’s not what you just referenced.”

Savannah then came to her father’s defense, saying, “But I think it’s like everyone else, like you guys got out and you immediately started working. You’re building your life back. And luckily, opportunities have come.”
“By the grace of God,” Todd said, and Julie added, “Absolutely.”
The family’s comments come more than three months after Todd and Julie were pardoned by President Donald Trump and were released from prison in May.
The pardons put an end to a legal saga that led to the pair being indicted on 12 counts of bank and wire fraud, tax evasion and conspiracy, and later convicted and sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison in November 2022 (though that number was reduced by around two years each in September 2023).
They immediately began appealing their case, and while Todd’s sentence was upheld, Julie’s appeal was initially granted due to insufficient evidence. However, a judge later ruled that her original punishment was sufficient.

Following their release from prison, the reality stars also spoke about the future of their marriage after divorce rumors surfaced.
While appearing on an episode of Savannah‘s Unlocked podcast in July, the couple was asked about rumors they were breaking up.
“No. No. Let me set the record straight,” Julie insisted. “We are not getting divorced. I actually think that we settled back in fairly easy.”
Todd explained that he never felt the distance between him and Julie, despite living in separate prisons. Julie was at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., while Todd was housed in Florida’s Federal Prison Camp Pensacola.

“In my mind, I was never away from her,” explained Todd, who married Julie in 1996. “I would tell her in the emails every day, I said, ‘I’m with you every step you take.’ And I’d say, ‘And feel my love surrounding you at all times.’ So when I went to bed at night, she was right there with me. When I woke up and I did my prayers, she was right there with me. And that’s how I survived it.”
“I don’t think there was ever anything in my mind that we were separate or that we were ever going to be separate,” Julie said, to which Todd shared, “I never had that either.”
“And so I think it allowed us to really just come back together,” Julie added.
New episodes of The Chrisleys: Back to Reality will air Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime through its Sept. 16 finale.
