Liv Tyler’s Son Sailor Cuts His Hair for the First Time in 10 Years

Liv Tyler’s son is sporting a new look just in time for the school year.

Over the weekend, the actress, 48, shared a series of photos on her Instagram as she explained that her son Sailor Gene, 10, had cut his hair for the first time in 10 years. Sailor, who used to have long blonde hair, chopped off nearly all of it before showing off his new look.

In one photo, Sailor can be seen getting his haircut, and then in another, showing off the short style. Tyler also included a picture of Sailor’s long blond hair cut in a ponytail, as well as a video of their cat playing with his hair.

“Our sweet boy Sailor Gene was ready for a Transformation !!! 10 years of long golden locks …Back to school snip !!!” Tyler wrote in her caption. “✂️ 💗 💗 ✂️ Thank you @adamcampbellhair.”

Tyler shares Sailor and daughter, Lula, 7, with ex David Gardner. She is also mom to son Milo, 20, whom she shares with ex Roy Langdon.

In April, Tyler appeared on Oliver and Kate Hudson’s Sibling Revelry podcast and discussed how her parenting has been influenced by her own parents’ methods. Tyler is the daughter of 77-year-old rocker Steven Tyler and Bebe Buell.

“We all saw our parents like really busy working and like potentially [their] career was always sort of first,” she said.

“It was like there was certain things that had to be accepted, and maybe parenting [was] not always first,” continued Tyler. “And I would say that all four of us sibs, we’ve really prioritized parenting over anything at the detriment of relationships, career, whatever.”

Although she doesn’t often share photos of her kids, on June 2023 the mom of three celebrated a special moment as her oldest, son Milo, graduated high school. Tyler shared photos on Instagram of the big day.

“This happened 👨‍🎓 what a journey !! so SO soooo proud of you Milo 💗,” she captioned a set of photos that showed the teen throughout the ceremony.
