Ed Harris Joins Cast Of ‘Yellowstone’ Rip And Beth Spinoff, ‘The Dutton Ranch’
Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler’s Yellowstone spinoff is finally taking shape.
Variety reports Ed Harris has joined the cast of the new Yellowstone spinoff series focused on Beth and Rip, titled The Dutton Ranch.
Harris will be playing Everett McKinney, described as “a weathered veteran and veterinarian who treats animals with compassion and understanding and has a good sense of humor.”
The show’s official logline states, “Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) are grateful for the peace they sought, fought, and nearly died for with their 7,000-acre Dutton Ranch. With tough times and stiff competition, Beth and Rip do what they must to survive, all while ensuring Carter (Finn Little) becomes the man he’s supposed to be,” per Variety.
Harris is the latest star to join the cast. Actress Annette Bening recently joined the cast and will reportedly be playing Beulah Jackson, described as “the powerful, cunning, and charming head of a major ranch in Texas.”
Chad Feehan will serve as showrunner on the series. He previously produced Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
Rumors have been swirling about Reilly and Hauser taking the Yellowstone helm ever since Kevin Costner exited the series early.
The Dutton Ranch is the latest spinoff series from Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan.
Sheridan now has 10 new and returning series in the works.
