Since losing the weight Larcom has been dedicating his platform to helping others on their own journeys.

In June, the actor posted a detailed video on Instagram sharing how he achieved his weight loss in just a year. He admitted that when he first started his journey, he lost 50 lbs. but regained the weight before having more discipline with his lifestyle changes.

“I always struggled with food. I overate. I always ate the wrong things. I loved sugary sodas, things like that. Everything that’s not good for your body that would make someone overweight,” he said. “I turned 18 and saw 300 lbs. on the scale and I wanted to make a big change. A change that was substantial, a change that would last me the rest of my life.”

Larcom said he turned to one of his friends for advice, and they recommended he start eating in a calorie deficit. He began tracking everything he ate and checking the macronutrients of his food.

“I lost the weight in a little bit over one year. By the time I was 19 I was at 170 lbs. But nowadays what my life looks like is, I go to the gym six times a week and I track every single thing that I eat — still to this day,” he shared. “That’s the biggest key for me. That’s the biggest thing that helped me lose the weight.”
