The rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, put a playful spin on suiting and wore Valentino’s Supergran Plusdepois Print Jacket ($4,800) in black/birch. The blazer featured a bold polka-dot print and a large red satin bow.

Underneath the jacket, Cardi wore the matching Valentino Polka-dot Silk Crêpe de Chine Blouse ($2,700), also in black/birch, which had a high-neck collar, ruffles and iridescent pearl buttons. The case saw Cardi attempting to clear her name after Emani Ellis, a security guard, sued her for $24 million. Ellis alleged that Cardi cut her cheek with a three-inch fingernail and spat on her as the rapper left an obstetrician’s office in 2018.

During the case, Cardi alleged that Ellis invaded her privacy and filmed her with a cell phone as she was leaving the office. At the time, Cardi was pregnant with her and Offset’s first child, Kulture Kiari Cephus, though it was not public knowledge.

Cardi was cleared of assault in the trial and celebrated by uploading a video of herself dancing to her forthcoming song, “Bodega Baddie,” on TikTok. She ditched her Valentino pants while twerking to the song.

“Walking out of court likeeee 💃 🎉 #bodegabaddie,” she captioned the video.

“I work all day and I work hard for my money, for my kids, for the people that I take care of,” Cardi said following the trial, according to BBC. “So don’t you ever think that you’re going to sue me, and I’m just going to settle.”

Cardi’s Valentino outfit is far from the only fashionable look she’s turned out during her court proceedings.

For her Aug. 27 court hearing in Los Angeles, the rapper wowed in white. She wore the Jacquemus Ovalo jacket ($1,850) with a matching pair of the brand’s Ovalo pants ($1,150). Cardi completed the outfit with white heels, statement sunglasses and luscious waves in her hair.
