Aaron Judge’s Yankees outfield situation still has more questions than answers
HOUSTON — Two and a half weeks ago, when Aaron Judge was nine days into his throwing program, general manager Brian Cashman was asked about a time frame for when his star right fielder would actually be cleared to play the field again.
“I think sooner than later, but I don’t have that answer, so I don’t want to make it up,” Cashman said.
The calendar has now flipped to September and the waiting game continues, with little in the way of answers aside from Aaron Boone repeating his belief that Judge will play the field again this season with 24 games left.
“We absolutely feel like he’s going to be back out there,” Boone said Tuesday at Daikin Park before opening a series against the Astros. “I know I keep saying it’s soon, and I wholeheartedly feel that way right now sitting here. I just don’t know that day yet.
