Stuart “Syko Stu” Smith has returned home from the hospital after being left unconscious following a wrestling match with Raja Jackson that turned into an attack.
In a post on the wrestler’s Instagram on Sunday, Aug. 31, co-signed by his wife Contessa Patterson, they announced that Smith “has been released from the hospital and is now home resting.”
The statement revealed that Smith “sustained a serious head injury and was unconscious upon arrival at the ER” after Jackson, 25, continued punching him in the head during an independent wrestling event in Los Angeles.
“His injuries include trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth,” the statement said. “He has a long road of recovery ahead, but he remains in good spirits despite everything he has been through.”

“We are deeply grateful for all the love and support we’ve received during this time,” the statement continued. “Thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way—whether through monetary donations, food, flowers, or gifts. Your kindness means more than words can express.”
Smith and his wife signed off their statement with “love and respect.”
Smith was left unconscious after Jackson appeared to knock him out in the ring before punching him multiple times in the head at the Knokx Pro Wrestling event. The incident was captured live on the streaming platform Kick.

In the disturbing footage, Raja was seen entering the ring and picking up Smith above his head before slamming him hard on the mat. He then appeared to punch Smith in the head multiple times as he lay motionless on the ground. Raja was eventually held back by a group of other wrestlers in the ring.
Fans have since called for legal action against Jackson, who is the son of former UFC star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Quinton, 47, took to Instagram on Sept. 1 to defend his son and place part of the blame on Smith.

“Yes my son took things too far, and I’m pissed at him for being a POS and the way he handled it,” Quinton wrote, before claiming Smith was drunk. “But if psycho Stu wasn’t drunk and wouldn’t have hit my son over the head with a (real beer can) while he was live streaming on his own stream then Knox wouldn’t have felt like they had to make things right by letting Raja get his ‘get back’ in the ring!”
Jackson said if his son “would’ve just went to the police when the beer can incident happened” they could have had “the whole event” shut down “and he could’ve sued” Smith.
“But no my son is not as smart as I’d liked for him to be,” he continued, revealing that his family is now receiving “racist threats.”
Smith has not pressed charges as of Tuesday.
