Robin Wright is done with being a bride.

In a new interview with U.K. newspaper The Sunday Times, published Aug. 31, the actress, 59, opened up about her boyfriend, architect Henry Smith, and shared why she won’t be walking down the aisle for a fourth time.

“He is a sweetheart and just a good, decent adult. He’s a man,” Wright told the publication of Smith, 52, whom she met almost a year ago in a pub.

Soon after their initial meeting, the pair both caught COVID-19, which Wright — who says she suffered with brain fog for five months afterwards — reveals sped up the process of getting to know one another.

“Getting to know each other in deep long Covid was like what’s that called at the airport? The fast track. We did a fast-track getting to know you because we were lying in bed deathly ill, crying, laughing, hugging, loving, snogging, f——,” she told the outlet. “Just like, ‘I want to know you.’ ”

Adding that she may have manifested Smith, the House of Cards alum continued, “That’s exactly what I wanted. I’m turning 60 and I’m, like, ‘Is this it?’ I love being alone and I’ve done that many times. But I’m, like, I want to grow old with somebody, and travel and see the world.”

As for whether or not she would marry again, Wright was straight to the point.

“No. God no. Why? That’s just unnecessary,” she told the publication.

Wright has previously been married three times. From 1986 to 1988 she was married to the late actor Dane Witherspoon, before tying the knot with Sean Penn in 1996. The former couple, who divorced in 2010, share two children: daughter Dylan, 34, and son Hopper, 32.

Her third marriage was to Clement Giraudet in 2018. Wright filed for divorce from Giraudet, 41, in the summer of 2022, citing irreconcilable differences.

In the same interview with The Sunday Times, Wright revealed how she and Smith are renting a home in the English seaside after leaving the U.S. for the U.K.

“It’s liberating to be done,” Wright said. “Be done with searching, looking and getting 60 percent of what you wanted.”

Calling America “a s—show,” Wright, who was born in Texas and raised in California, added of England, “I love being in this country. There’s a freedom of self here. People are so kind. They’re living. They’re not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That’s most of America. Everything’s rush, competition and speed.”

“Everyone’s building a huge house, and I’m just done with all that — I love the quiet. And I’ve met my person. Finally,” she continued, referring to Smith.

“I’m seen and loved for who I am. It’s so relaxing,” Wright added of their romance.
