‘RHOP’ star Karen Huger released from prison after 6 months for DUI arrest
The Grande Dame is free!
“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger has been released from prison after serving only six months behind bars for her 2024 DUI.
A spokesperson for the Montgomery County Detention Center tells Page Six exclusively Tuesday, “She has been released.”
Huger, 62, was found guilty of DUI in December 2024 after wrecking her Maserati in a high-speed crash earlier in the year.
The police body cam of the reality star’s arrest was released to the public at the time, showing an inebriated Huger struggling to speak and even admitting to being “drunk” after the crash.
At one point, she even referred to herself as Thomas Jefferson’s “concubine” while sitting in an interrogation room with a police officer who asked her questions about the incident.
In an episode of “RHOP” that aired in March, the Bravolebrity spoke about the bodycam footage, saying she initially refused to watch the clip.
“I’m sitting there in the courtroom, like, I have to finally watch it, because I kept saying, ‘Well, surely they made a mistake, right, because everything’s not connecting for me,’” she told her husband, Ray Huger, 79, during the scene.
“And I watched, and I’m telling you, I didn’t recognize that woman,” she continued. “I didn’t know her.”
Karen claimed that she “blacked out” before crashing her pricey vehicle on the side of a street.
In February, the fragrance owner was sentenced to a two-year prison term, with one year suspended, and was immediately taken into custody by the police.
Karen’s co-star Gizelle Bryant said she was “shook” after hearing that her frenemy would have to spend time behind bars.
However, in April, the “Love Hotel” star, 54, said Karen was thriving in prison after her DUI sentencing.
“I have been in contact with someone that’s very close to her about her safety and all that,” she told Andy Cohen on an episode of “Watch What Happens Live.”
“From what I understand, they love her up in where she is right now. They absolutely love her. They are loving the Grande Dame! And you know she’s running that thing,” Bryant added.
“I feel very good about the fact that she’s safe.”
Karen has faced four driving violations since 2006.
