Keleigh Sperry Reflects on Loss of L.A. Home in Wedding Anniversary Post

It’s a bittersweet sixth wedding anniversary for Keleigh Sperry and Miles Teller.

Sperry, 32, marked the milestone on Monday, Sept. 1, with a reflective Instagram tribute honoring the highs and lows that she and Teller, 38, went through in the past 12 months.

The couple was among thousands of Los Angeles residents affected by the California wildfires, which ultimately led to the loss of their home, reportedly purchased in 2023.

“This year showed us what we’re made of, started out with a painful goodbye to our pop, immediately into running from fire as we watched our home and everything we’ve created burn to the ground, and then into a robbery that is a story for another day,” wrote Sperry.

Due to the trials and tribulations the couple experienced, the model said she and her husband “can face anything, dance through every lightning strike and find home in each other when we’re homesick for a place that no longer exists.”

Sperry has come to realize that “home isn’t four walls” but instead “2 eyes and a heartbeat.”

She extended her gratitude to her family and friends who have “offered shelter physically or emotionally.”

“You have no idea how a message or helping hand got us through and we will never forget. So here’s to year 7 my love, I LOVE YOU may it be better than we can imagine! 🥂🥂 (knocks on wood) 🤣💌💌,” Sperry wrote to end her post.

A photo previously obtained by PEOPLE of the couple’s former property shows it completely covered in ash and rubble following the L.A. fires.

At the time, Sperry shared the last photo she took of her home while evacuating, which showed large clouds of smoke filling the sky behind it.

Sperry and Teller met at a Grammy’s afterparty in 2013, and they became engaged in August 2017 while on a safari trip in South Africa. The couple married in September 2019.

“We’re just together all the time and it’s the most beautiful relationship I’ve ever had in my life,” Teller told PEOPLE about Sperry in February.

Teller also made sure to mark their sixth wedding anniversary by sharing a tribute on X, which read, “Happy 6 year anniversary to you my love and to us. I feel so lucky to have your gentle, kind, loving spirit always by my side. I fall more in love with you each and every day.. @keleighteller.”
