Jordon Hudson joins Bill Belichick for UNC football debut
Jordon Hudson stole the spotlight at the Tar Heels’ season opener against TCU on Monday night.
The 24-year-old girlfriend of new UNC head coach Bill Belichick — making his college debut at Chapel Hill — was spotted sidelines at Kenan Memorial Stadium alongside her beau.
Hudson sported a white tank top and Carolina blue pants and got to celebrate early next to NFL icon Randy Moss in a suite when Caleb Hood scored on an 8-yard rush in the first quarter.
The stars were out for Belichick’s first UNC game after signing his five-year $50 million deal with the Tar Heels last December.
Notable UNC figures, including Michael Jordan and Lawrence Taylor, were seen on the sidelines.
Mia Hamm, Julius Peppers, Eric Church, Chase Rice and Blake Snell were among those expected to take in the action at Chapel Hill, as well.
Hudson’s presence was expected as she made it clear she has a hand in Belichick’s career.
The 73-year-old coach previously said Hudson handles his opportunities outside of UNC.
Hudson attended Belichick’s introductory press conference at Chapel Hill last December, and was seen on the sidelines at a spring game.
The coach and Hudson, a former NCAA champion cheerleader with Bridgewater State University, were at the center of a media firestorm in April after she interrupted his “CBS Sunday Morning” interview over a question about how the couple met.
After multiple reports alleged Hudson is trying to control Belichick’s career to further her own, the eight-time Super Bowl winner said in a public statement that Hudson leads his professional opportunities outside of UNC.
Journalist Pablo Torre, who investigated the couple, claimed Belichick’s family was concerned and digging into Hudson.
UNC also denied Torre’s claim that Hudson was banned from the athletic facility.
The CBS interview was in promotion of Belichick’s book, “The Art of Winning,” which made The New York Times’ best sellers list — and features a tribute to Hudson, whom he called his “creative muse” and “idea mill.”
Belichick and Hudson’s relationship became public last summer. The couple has said they met on a flight in 2021.
Belichick is coaching a Tar Heels squad including 40 new transfers, and 70 new players overall, the most in the ACC.
He took his talents to the college level after parting ways with the Patriots in January 2024, following 24 seasons and six Super Bowl championships.
With the Patriots, Belichick had 21 winning seasons and 12 Super Bowl appearances, including his time as an assistant.
