Elon Musk’s estranged daughter Vivian Wilson is explaining why she wears disguises when going out to the bar.

The 21-year-old spoke to The Cut for a new interview and noted that after she publicly shared comments on Threads about her father, she received a lot of negative attention from trolls online.

“A lot of people have tried to spin things I say into things I don’t mean,” Wilson told the outlet, going on to reveal that she wears a disguise when she goes to gay bars now. “A lot of people can be really creepy, especially about my body.”

“A lot of people say the most disgusting, unhinged things they would do to me. It makes me feel gross,” she continued. “Don’t text people on the internet all the ways you’d f— them.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Wilson shared that she’s interested in returning to college this fall to continue her study of foreign languages. However, she admitted that “college is expensive” and that she doesn’t “have that inheritance.”

“People assume I have a lot of money. I don’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars at my disposal,” she explained.

“My mom is rich, right?” Wilson continued, adding that she wants to save her money and hopes not to rely on her mother. “But obviously the other one [Musk] is unimaginable degrees of wealthy.”

Wilson went on to add that she lives with three roommates because it’s “cheaper.”

“I don’t have a desire to be superrich,” she explained. “I can afford food. I have friends, a shelter and some expendable income, which is nice and much more fortunate than most people my age in Los Angeles.”

In March, Wilson opened up about her identity — and her parents’ differing reactions to her coming out as transgender — in a cover story for Teen Vogue. At the time, she shared that her mom Justine Wilson, 52, was more supportive than her estranged dad, 53, when she confirmed her gender identity to them in 2020.

“She was very supportive of my transition,” Wilson told the magazine of her mom. “She is a published writer of supernatural romance fiction, which is where I get all my Vivian-isms.”

“When I came out to her, she was like, ‘Yeah, that figures.’ She kind of [pieced it together], so when I came out, she pretended to be slightly surprised for 30 seconds and then was like, ‘Yeah, honey. Okay,’ ” she continued.

As for her father, the model told Teen Vogue that the Tesla CEO “was not as supportive as my mom,” adding: “First of all, I had not talked to him in months — in months — so I had to get f—— parental consent to get testosterone blockers and [hormone replacement therapy].”
