Chipotle is reviving a crowd favorite.

The popular Mexican grill chain is bringing Carne Asada back to its menus starting Sept. 4, per a release from the restaurant. The brand’s “most-searched menu item” —  which is fresh grilled steak marinated in a blend of cumin, coriander, garlic and oregano, topped with fresh lime and cilantro — will return to locations in the United States and Canada for a limited time.

Introduced to Chipotle restaurants in 2019, Carne Asada’s 2025 return marks its fourth reappearance on the menu since its debut.

Carne Asada returns just in time for football season, Chipotle noted. To celebrate the return of the season and of the steak, guests can get a buy-one, get-one entrée deal in U.S. restaurants on Monday, Sept. 15 by wearing a college football jersey after 5 p.m. local time.

Chipotle is also partnering with EA Sports College Football 26 video game and will be included in the game’s “Road to Glory” mode. This opportunity gives players the chance to sign a name, image and likeness (NIL) deal with the restaurant to promote the return of Carne Asada.

“The protein’s rich flavor profile is the perfect pairing for any gameday whether you’re watching marquee matchups from home or tailgating at the stadium,” Chipotle said in a release.

To top of the celebration of Carne Asada’s return, Chipotle is offering a $0 delivery fee on all Carne Asada orders in the app, on Chipotle.com or Chipotle.ca., from Sept. 8 to Sept. 30.
