Chad Paine Reveals Wife Erin Bates Is in ICU

Chad Paine is asking for “prayers for recovery” for his wife Erin Bates.

The dad of seven, 38, shared that the Bringing Up Bates star, 34, has gone into septic shock following a severe UTI and kidney infection one week after welcoming her seventh baby. Paine shared two black-and-white pictures of Bates on Instagram in the hospital room, as he asked for “prayers for recovery.”

“We wanted to thank each and every one of you for all the prayers and support you have given on our behalf. It’s been a week since our miracle, Henry came into the world. He is doing well in the NICU and is our bundle of happiness,” he began in the caption.

“We had asked for prayer for recovery for Erin due to complications,” Paine continued. “Her labor was longer and more intense than previous births. She has been fighting through it and has been a shining example of grace to nurses, staff, and doctors alike. We are all moved by her kindness and gratefulness in the midst of pain.”

“Erin developed a severe UTI and kidney infection, which sent her into septic shock. She is currently still in the ICU as doctors continue to treat, diagnose, and search for answers,” he concluded. “We would covet your prayers for this beautiful girl who is such a light in a dark world. We are holding onto God’s promises.”

The couple welcomed their seventh baby, son Henry Blythe, on Monday, Aug. 25, announcing the exciting news via Instagram on Wednesday, Aug. 27. In the photo, the newly minted mom of seven held onto her newborn son right after delivering him.

After a long and emotional labor, our miracle arrived. Henry Blythe was born August 25th. 💙,” Paine wrote in the caption. “Henry is doing wonderful, but we would so appreciate your prayers for Erin as she continues to recover from some complications. We thank the Lord for carrying us through and for the gift of this precious boy. 💙.”

Shortly after welcoming her son, Bates shared an emotional video on her Instagram, hugging her Henry in the hospital. Set to the instrumental of Relaxing Piano Man’s “The Prayer,” she wrote over the video, “Together again 🥹.”

“Back where he belongs 😘 I’ve never felt so thankful. Your prayers have been felt and so appreciated. 🥹🙏🏻🫶🏻#AnsweredPrayers #HenryBlythe #GodIsFaithful” she wrote in the caption for the post.

In her Instagram Stories, she reshared the post, thanking her team of doctors who made it possible for her to reunite with Henry in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

“Literally have had the BEST team of nurses and doctors. They made it possible for me to go see Henry in Nicu after a few days of missing him like crazy! 💔 #stretcher #bestteamever #grateful,” she wrote. “This is heaven. 🫶.”

The doting mom also shared a snap of her husband interacting with their newborn, calling him the “best caretaker in the whole world.”

“Hands down the best caretaker in the whole world. i couldn’t possible love him any more. 💋 He has juggled taking care of me and Henry. ❤️ so thankful,” she wrote.

Bates Paine also shared a picture of her mom Kelly Bates in the hospital room with her newest grandson. The singer called the mom of 19 the “best support person.”

She wrote in text over the picture, “Best support person! ❤️ Mom, you’ve been a gem 🥰 @thebatesfam.”
