Fifth Harmony was formed on the second season of the US version of “The X-Factor” in 2012.

Cabello quit the girl group in 2016 to pursue a solo career.

“After four and a half years of being together, we have been informed via her representatives that Camila has decided to leave Fifth Harmony. We wish her well,” the band said in a statement at the time.

In her own statement, Cabello said, “As sad as it is to see this chapter ending this way, I will continue to root them all on as individuals and as a group. I wish nothing but the best for them, all the success in the world, and true happiness.”

Fifth Harmony had their last official concert at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida, in May 2018, two months after the group announced an indefinite hiatus to pursue solo careers.

“We are all very excited and grateful to be able to take this time to learn and grow creatively and really find our footing as individuals. In doing this we are allowing ourselves to gain new experiences, strengths and perspectives that we can bring back to our Fifth Harmony family,” the foursome told fans in March 2018.

Cabello, for her part, opened up about her decision to walk away from the girl group on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast last year.

“I started distancing myself from the group vision, and it felt like, you know, they were still really passionate and into that and so, I was just like, ‘I’m not happy here anymore, it doesn’t feel aligned,’” the “Havana” singer explained.

Cabello originally thought she wanted to write for other artists, but over time she changed her mind and decided she preferred writing and and performing her own lyrics.

Despite her departure, Cabello noted that she looks back on her time with Fifth Harmony with fondness.

“I feel like I can really focus on and remember the really joyful times,” she shared. “And I grew a lot in that group.”
