Taylor Swift predicted engagement timeline years before Travis Kelce proposed
Taylor Swift predicted early on in her career that she wouldn’t get married until the age of 35.
In a clip, which resurfaced after the pop star’s engagement to Travis Kelce, a television host playfully told Swift that she’s “not allowed to get married until she’s 35” while she focuses on her music career.

“No, it’s gonna be late. Late in life,” Swift, now 35, agreed.
The “Lover” songstress also shared she’s “always going to be personal” when it comes to her music, adding, “I don’t hold anything back in that category.”
The clip resurfaced shortly after Swift and her now-fiancé, Travis Kelce, announced their engagement via Instagram on Tuesday.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” they captioned photos from the garden proposal.
The romantic snaps showed the Kansas City Chiefs star, 35, getting down on one knee and another of the A-list couple embracing each other.
Swift also flaunted her new vintage-inspired engagement ring, estimated to be worth $1 million.
Kelce co-designed the ring with the help of Kindred Lubeck, a jeweler at Artifex Fine, Page Six exclusively confirmed.
The athlete’s father, Ed Kelce, revealed that his son asked Swift’s dad for permission before popping the question.
“This was probably a month ago,” Ed shared on “The Jimmy & Nath Show with Emma” Tuesday.
“He was going to put it off till this week,” Ed later told ABC News 5 Cleveland.
“I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off till this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event,” he continued.
Ed shared that Taylor believed she and Travis were going to grab some wine before dinner when the proposal occurred in the backyard of his Leawood, Kan., estate, which he decorated with white and pink-toned flowers.
Page Six exclusively revealed that the duo, who started dating in 2023, got engaged a few weeks ago.
