“It will be more casual than people think,” a source told us Wednesday, following the couple’s exciting engagement news one day prior.
Swift and Kelce, both 35, sent fans into a frenzy on Tuesday when they announced they were engaged after two years of dating.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” they captioned a joint Instagram post featuring several photos from the dreamy proposal.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end got down on one knee in the garden-esque backyard of his Leawood, Kan., estate on Aug. 10, presenting the pop superstar with an old mine brilliant-cut diamond ring that he co-designed with jeweler Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine.
The elongated, cushion-like-shaped sparkler could be worth up to $1 million.
“They were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine,’… They got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Kelce’s dad, Ed Kelce, dished of the romantic proposal.
Ed, 74, went on to reveal that his youngest son asked Swift’s father, Scott Swift, “for permission” to marry his daughter about “a month ago.”
The Kelce patriarch, who is also dad to retired NFL star Jason Kelce, added that he sensed Taylor was “getting maybe a little antsy” about when Travis would pop the question.
Meanwhile, the football player’s mom, Donna Kelce, may have hinted at the engagement announcement just two days before the big reveal.
In an interview Sunday, the 72-year-old described Travis as a “man on a mission” who “knows exactly what he wants,” adding, “I think his mind is settled.”
“Traylor” began dating in the summer of 2023 before going public with their romance that September at one of his home games.
