The Jets also claimed tight end Jelani Woods off of waivers from the Colts.
Head coach Aaron Glenn called Pole a “developmental” prospect with “tools.” Pole is an undrafted rookie who played two years for Chabot College before another two at Washington State.

Glenn thinks that Jones is a “very productive player” who can “really make noise on special teams.” That has been the case over Jones’ first two seasons in the NFL, when he played in 34 games (two starts) and logged 567 snaps on special teams.
Glenn described the 6-foot-7 Woods as a “huge tight end who can help us as a blocker and a receiver.” Woods is a former third-round pick who had 25 catches for 312 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie but he has spent the last two seasons on injured reserve.
“I like exactly how we handled this process,” Glenn said.

The Jets lost cornerback Jarrick Bernard-Converse to the Browns, who were No. 2 on the waiver priority list.
Former Jets quarterback Adrian Martinez – who lost the battle for the No. 3 job to Brady Cook – signed with the 49ers practice squad.
