Nicki Nicole is an Argentinian singer who’s romantically involved with star soccer player Lamine Yamal.

Nicole, whose real name is Nicole Denise Cucco, has been linked to the FC Barcelona athlete since the summer of 2025, when they were seen spending time together. However, they didn’t confirm their romance until August 2025 when Yamal posted a picture of them for her 25th birthday.

Nicole is a successful singer, rapper and songwriter who is known for her hit songs “Wapo Traketero,” “Colocao” and “Mamichula,” among many others. She has been nominated for eight Latin Grammy awards and has won several other notable awards. When she’s not in the studio making music, Nicole performs and tours around the world.

“I aim to have my music resonate with people, stirring emotions, and telling stories they can connect with, but also that a piece of me, my background, and my culture stays with them,” she told The Hype Magazine in July 2023.

She’s from Argentina

Nicole was born on Aug. 25, 2000, in Rosario, Argentina. Nicole has previously spoken about the importance of her upbringing and told The Hype Magazine that she draws “a lot of musical influence from my roots.”

“I believe Rosario is something of a home, which I have a hard time finding elsewhere, because it’s where I grew up, where I’m from,” she told Billboard in 2022. “I grew up in the generation that still went outside to the street to play. … I’d go back to the house covered in dirt.”

When she wasn’t playing with her siblings, Nicole was singing and performing for her family.

“Since I was a little girl, I used to sing at home with my family, in the kitchen or anywhere I could,” she told Wonderland Magazine in July 2023. “I had a broomstick that I would use as a microphone to perform for people. My family has been supportive of me ever since those early days singing in the kitchen, up to when I decided to dedicate myself to music.”

Nicole is a singer and rapper

Nicole is a successful rapper, singer and songwriter who has worked on several hit songs. She initially rose to fame in 2019 when she released the song “Wapo Traketero” on her YouTube channel and it became an instant hit in Argentina.

She included the song on her debut album, Recuedros, which was released in November 2019. The album also included the song “Años Luz” and featured collaborations with Cazzu and Duki. Nicole made history in 2021 when she sang “Wapo Traketero” with Lunay on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, becoming the first Argentinian artist to sing on the late-night show.

She released her second album, Parte de Mí, in 2021 and included songs with Rauw Alejandro, Mora and Mon Laferte. The single from that album, “Colocao,” quickly skyrocketed and reached No. 6 on the Argentina Hot 100. In May 2023, she released her third album Alma, and her fourth album Naiki came out in 2024. Over the years, Nicole has also collaborated with Christina Aguilera, Becky G, Nathy Peluso, Los Ángeles Azules, Aitana, Emilia and Bizarrap.

In 2020, Nicole was nominated for her first Latin Grammy for Best New Artist. Although she lost to Mike Bahía, she still expressed gratitude for the nomination.

“That was something that I never expected in my life,” Nicole told Mitú in April 2021. “I knew it would happen one day but not this soon. The Latin Grammys have changed me. They’ve changed the whole course of my career. Even though I didn’t win, that [nomination] put me in a place that I never before dreamed of.”

Since then, she’s been nominated for seven other awards — including Best Urban Music Album, Best Rock Song and Best Rap/Hip Hop Song. Nicole has also taken her music on the road and performed across the world — including making her U.S. debut at Coachella in 2022.

She previously dated Peso Pluma

Before dating Yamal, Nicole was in a relationship with Mexican singer and rapper Peso Pluma. The two met while working together on the remix of his song “Por Las Noches” in February 2023, and they sparked romance rumors a few months later when they were seen walking around Disneyland together. By August 2023, they performed at the Billboard Latin Music Awards together and fueled speculation when he kissed her on the forehead.

Nicole and Pluma confirmed their relationship in November 2023 when they held hands and kissed while performing onstage. Later that same month, they made their red carpet debut at the Latin Grammys.

By February 2024, Nicole confirmed that they had broken up after Pluma was seen holding hands with another woman. At the time, she issued a statement that read, “Respect is a necessary part of love. When there’s no respect, I won’t stay. I leave.”

After the breakup, Nicole reflected on the situation and explained that it was difficult having her love life in the public eye.

Yamal and Nicole sparked romance rumors in the summer of 2025

Nicole sparked romance rumors with Yamal after she attended his 18th birthday party in July 2025.

Since then, they continued fueling romance rumors when they were photographed vacationing together in Monaco. The two also seemed to tease their romance on social media when he shared her song “Paz” on his Instagram Stories and she responded by posting a video of her singing “The Boy Is Mine,” according to LATV.

Eagle-eyed fans also noticed that both of them posted a similar Mario Kart scoreboard on their Instagram Stories in August.

Nicole further fueled romance rumors when she attended the Joan Gamper Trophy match between FC Barcelona and Como1907 at Estadi Johan Cruyff on Aug. 10. She was photographed sitting in the stands and wearing an FC Barcelona jersey. Yamal scored two goals and helped lead Barcelona to victory.

Nicole and Yamal made their relationship Instagram official in August 2025

After months of romance speculation, Nicole and Yamal confirmed their relationship on Instagram for her 25th birthday on Aug. 25. Yamal posted a photo smiling alongside Nicole as he placed his hand around her waist, and she cuddled close to him. The two posed while sitting down in front of the singer’s birthday cake.

He didn’t caption the photo but added a cake emoji and a pink heart emoji. Nicole reposted the photo on her Instagram Stories and added five heart on fire emojis.

Nicole later posted more photos from her birthday celebration that didn’t include Yamal and reflected on her milestone birthday.

“I continue to learn, and as I learn I accompany the people I love, and I really enjoy the people who follow me and accompany me through my music,” she captioned the photos. “I want to thank you for the messages and tell you that I’m taking enough time to be able to deliver a work that guides my heart.”
