Health update for wrestler attacked by Rampage Jackson’s son

The professional wrestler who was viciously attacked in the ring by the son of former UFC star Quinton “Rampage” Jackson may not be doing as well as previously thought.

Stuart Smith — aka Syko Stu – was mauled during a private wrestling event at KnokX Pro Academy. Raja Jackson body-slammed Smith and punched him more than 20 times as he lay on the ring mat.

The initial reports were positive, that Smith was recovering well, TMZ reported. Rampage posted on social media that, “I want to clear up the misinformation about my son Raja. I’ve been confirmed that the wrestler (Stewart Smith aka Syko Stu) is awake and stable.”

The prognosis may be worse than that, though.

His brother, Andrew Smith, wrote on Facebook that he is currently “in stable, but critical care.”

“Thank you everyone for your prayers, concerns, and kind words for my brother Stu,” he wrote. “Please continue to keep him in your prayers.”

Andrew Smith also wrote that there was not a Gofundme account set up, contrary to reports.

A friend, Jonovan Smith, also offered an update on Facebook, saying that Smith is not doing as well as he had hoped.

“To see him like this pains my heart,” said Jonovan, along with a photo of Stuart in the hospital. “I believe that Knox Pro is at fault for these events, to have allowed this to happen is beyond belief. Honestly im upset.”

Prior to the fight in the ring, the two men got into an apparent altercation outside the venue. Smith had slammed a beer on Jackson’s head — seeming to think that he was setting up a storyline for the show. The two were later seen making amends, a livestream showed.

KnokX Pro called Jackson’s actions “reprehensible” and said the pummeling of Smith was a “selfish, irresponsible act of violence.”

Raja Jackson has not commented publicly on the incident.
