The intrigue reached fever pitch this week when 2021’s US Open women’s champ, Emma Raducanu, teamed up with men’s No. 2 seed Carlos Alcaraz — whom the internet very much want to be more than just friends. The duo faced off in a mixed doubles match against Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper … who Raducanu was formerly linked to.
Grab a honey deuce and tune in: Here are the hottest doubles to watch out for at Forest Hills’ USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center over the next two weeks.
Match: Carlos Alcaraz, Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper
Blame tennis bad boy Nick Kyrgios for all the rumors about Alcaraz, the 22-year-old Spanish sensation, and Brits Raducanu, 22. and Draper, 23.
“I don’t know, I think it’s a love triangle,” Kyrgios said on the podcast talkSport Daily in July.
“Draper, Alcaraz, Raducanu,” he added. “They’re fighting over Raducanu.”
Raducanu, who made history for her 2021 US Open win, fanned the flames even more when she gushed about her “great connection” with Alcaraz — whom she was seen cheering on at Wimbledon in June — to the Guardian.
“I did start hearing rumors about Emma and Carlos last year. This year, with them playing together, it amplified the rumors,” Maria-Isabelle Parada, a tennis expert who runs the sports content account, SportsGirlsNYC, told The Post of the pair’s mixed-doubles match that happened Tuesday.
The crowd erupted in cheers as the two took their chemistry on the court, embracing, bumping fists and laughing throughout the match.
So much so, fans began to speculate if sparks were flying off their rackets.

“Am I watching the start of a love story?” one person wrote on X.
“I think this could be tennis’ hottest new couple,” another said.
Alcaraz further fueled speculation when he posted an image of himself hugging Raducanu on the court with the caption “That was fun.”
“Carlitos posted about the match right after it ended, and then Emma posted two days later … Everybody is like, ‘Oh my god.’ Carlos is not the type of person to post with a woman. The fact that he did is a big deal,” Parada said. “People were like, ‘They were having so much fun they didn’t realize they lost the match.’”
Indeed, they lost 4-2, 4-2 to Britain’s Jessica Pegula and Jack Draper — who Raducanu was previously linked to, setting up love-triangle comparisons to the tennis-world movie “Challengers.”
And observers were quick to remark that Draper and Raducanu, who grew up together, shared an uncomfortable-looking embrace at the net after the face off.
Draper has insisted he and Raducanu are just good friends, while neither she nor Alcaraz have confirmed anything. But fans are set on a trophy romance.
Match: Paige Lorenze and Tommy Paul
Lorenze has been linked to a slew of famous men, including country singer Morgan Wallen, NHL player Kasperi Kapanen, former “The Bachelorette” contestant Tyler Cameron Paul and, notoriously, actor Armie Hammer — who she claimed branded his initials onto her hip. (“I wouldn’t say ‘brand,’” Hammer has responded.)
But this July, Paul (men’s tennis’ No. 14), 28, put a ring on the 27-year-old influencer with a Nantucket beach engagement.
“Forever,” Lorenze, who runs the apparel line Dairy Boy, captioned a montage of photos from the big day — including a shot of an eye-popping emerald-cut diamond ring.
While they’re in apparent bliss, there may be some troubles on tour. Fans have speculated over a rumored feud between Lorenze and fellow WAG Morgan Riddle, the girlfriend of tennis pro Taylor Fritz, after they noticed last year that the women stopped following each other on Instagram.
Paul added fuel to the speculation when he appeared to unfollow Riddle as well.
Match: Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman
These two have Shelton’s rival to thank for playing Cupid.
After Shelton, 22, and Rodman, 23, went public with their romance on social media this spring, fellow tennis pro Frances Tiafoe claimed he was the one responsible for introducing them.
“By the way, I don’t think people realize, I was like, the one who [connected them] — if we’re going to be real. I’m happy for him man,” Tiafoe told the Overtime Tennis TikTok account about Shelton, who is also a pal.
Rodman — a star forward who plays for the Washington Spirit women’s soccer team — and Shelton made their big reveal with a mirror selfie of her kissing his cheek.
“There were never signals on social media and then just a hard launch,” Parada told The Post.
They’ve since posted several photos of their PDA even as both are constantly working.
“Rodman does a good job of incorporating soccer fans into the tennis world. She’s a great soccer player. She’s on season, but she does her best to support Ben,” Parada added.
Match: Morgan Riddle and Taylor Fritz
Minnesota native Morgan Riddle, 28, carved out a niche for herself as an internet personality, and professional tennis tour girlfriend cheering on her beau of five years, Taylor Fritz.
Riddle met Fitz, who is ranked No. 4 in the world by the Association of Tennis Professionals, on the celebrity dating app Raya in 2020.
“The pandemic had just started. I was just like, ‘I don’t really want to jump into anything,’ but he was pretty persistent,” she previously told The Post, noting that she wasn’t even aware that the California native, who is worth around $10 million, was an athlete.
“I had seen a photo on his profile of him playing tennis, but I just assumed that it was a college team,” she told The Post in 2023.
And she’s been by his side ever since, supporting her man’s biggest professional achievements — like competing in the 2025 Wimbledon Championships in London.
Fritz scored 10 ATP singles titles, including the 2022 Indian Wells Open.
Match: Frances Tiafoe and Ayan Broomfield
These two have been through a lot together, considering they have dated for a decade — starting when she was just 18 and he was 17, after being introduced by a mutual friend.
Tiafoe, a Maryland native, turned pro around the time they first got together and his career has skyrocketed, with 39 Grand Slam wins and a semifinals near-miss at the 2022 US Open.
Broomfield, a Canadian, played tennis at UCLA and was Saniyya Sidney’s body double when the actress played Venus Williams in the movie “King Richard.”
Since then, Broomfield has mostly become a professional WAG, joining Tiafoe on the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) circuit and, as W magazine reported, hiring a cameraman to follow her around and posting about “many of the tour’s more glamorous moments: dinners thrown by tournament sponsors, makeup routines for Grand Slams, meeting Justin and Hailey Bieber at the US Open.”
The pair celebrated history together earlier this year when Broomfield posted an Instagram tribute to Big Foe’s biggest accomplishments over the years — and he commented, “Man to think how far we’ve come. 2015 meeting you … and also just starting my career. You’ve rocked with me thru it all.”
Match: Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa
Greek ace Stefanos Tsitsipas (No. 28) and Paula Badosa (No. 16) of Spain have a hot-and-cold history.
The pair went public with their romance in 2023, spawning the fan nickname “Tsitsidosa.” But they split up last May — only to find their way back to each other the next month, keeping fans on their toes.
They parted ways again in July, after their first round of Wimbledon, both blaming the demands of the all-consuming sport. It likely doesn’t help that Tsitsipas, who was once ranked No. 3 in the world, in 2021,has struggled of late.

“They take their jobs so seriously. It’s hard. With the tennis season, they’re always traveling” — and not necessarily to the same places, Parada said. “With Taylor [Fritz] and Morgan [Riddle], it works out because she’s an influencer. She can travel everywhere he goes.”
All eyes will be on the two, who have unfollowed each other on social media, to see if they meet up during the US Open for a possible third round of romance.
