Ghislaine Maxwell details relationship with Jeffrey Epstein in DOJ interviews

Ghislaine Maxwell detailed her relationship with longtime partner in crime and convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein in an interview with President Trump’s Department of Justice, according to audio tapes and transcripts released Friday.

Maxwell, 63, elaborated on her connection to the notorious sexual predator, portraying herself as romantically strung-along while serving as “general manager” of the late millionaire pedophile’s real estate portfolio, tapes from her two-day interviews last month with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche in Tallahassee, Fla., revealed.

Ghislaine Maxwell, 63, sat for hours of testimony with the Department of Justice,
audio and transcripts of which were released on Friday.

She also bizarrely claimed that the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks were when she realized they would never have a romantic future.

The British socialite — and now federal prisoner — described how, in 1991, she was set up on a date with Epstein, who was “looking for a wife,” when she moved to New York after breaking off an engagement. The soon-to-be notorious pair met for tea.

“We are in 1991, I met him at his offices on Madison Garden (sic). And I think the most memorable thing I can think about — that is he was wearing a tie, which he didn’t often do,” Maxwell said of Epstein, who the FBI and DOJ confirmed killed himself in a Brooklyn lockup in 2019.

“It had a giant — seemed like a tomato ketchup stain on it. So I was like, wow, okay,” she said, laughing. “And that was how we met.”

Maxwell said she “slept with him one time” in 1992, “and I was like, ‘whoa, that’s it. We’re going to be dating,’ because that’s how I thought,” she said.

“That’s the world I came from.”

However, Maxwell and Epstein did not sleep with each other for at least another nine months, with the sicko instead tasking her with finding him an apartment.

She found the home of a former Iranian ambassador on the Upper East Side for Epstein to rent, while she shacked up in a “10-foot-by-10-foot” apartment. Maxwell said Jeffrey felt like her “life line” at the time.

Maxwell claimed she and Epstein traveled together extensively from 1991 to 1999, including to Balmoral Cabin in England, where they were hosted by Prince Andrew. ZUMAPRESS.com

From 1992 to 1996, their relationship became more intimate professionally and romantically, with the pair traveling together “a lot,” including to his home in Palm Beach, Fla. Epstein would purchase his notorious Little Saint James Island in 1996.

While traveling, they would sleep in the same bed, but would not have sexual intercourse, she revealed, according to the transcripts.

“Epstein told me he had a heart condition,” Maxwell explained.

“Which meant that he didn’t have intercourse a lot, which suited me fine, because I actually do have a medical condition which precludes me having a lot of intercourse,” she shared.

Epstein liked “other forms of sexual activities,” she added.

Their relationship teetered between professional and romantic, with Maxwell claiming to spend the most time with Epstein in the office, “and I would count in my head when I would see him,” she said.

During this time, Epstein maintained a relationship with longtime flame Eva Dubin, and many others, which was revealed to Maxwell through the publishing of his private flight logs, she said according to the docs.

Maxwell said she considered herself a “general manager” while maintaining a complex romantic and sexual relationship with the late convicted pedophile. SDNY

“The way I thought of myself, or the way that I think is the best way to explain how I view my role, was as a general manager. Because each property, to me, was like a — a hotel.”

She was soon on Epstein’s payroll, initially receiving $25,000 annually as she ran several of his multi-million dollar properties — before eventually recruiting and grooming young girls for the sick financier.

Her salary — which she said was reflected on a W-2 — grew to $250,000, which she was paid until “whenever he came out of jail,” Maxwell told Blanche, referring to 2008, when the disgraced mogul pleaded guilty to soliciting underage sex and was placed on the sex offenders list. He served 13 months behind bars.

The pair stopped having “full sex” in 1999 — but she said a national tragedy put an end to her hopes for a romantic relationship.

“I definitely knew that it was over after 9/11, actually, because we were both in New York,” Maxwell said.

“And it was a scary time if you were in New York … And he was on 71st Street and I was on 65th Street at my house.

“And he wouldn’t come see me at all,” Maxwell said, adding that Epstein asked her to visit his mother, who was a patient at Lennox Hill Hospital at the time.

“And then I knew, as anyone did at that time, if you’re not going to be there for someone on 9/11, you’re never going to be there. So for me, that was the line’s end.”

Maxwell claimed Epstein would not visit her at her home — just a few blocks away from his — to comfort her in the aftermath of 9/11, which is when she knew their romantic prospects were over, she told Blanche. ZUMA24.com

After that, Maxwell and Epstein’s relationship supposedly cooled. She found a new boyfriend and began to disengage romantically, though still considered Epstein to be “like family” and continued to work for him.

Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years behind bars in 2022 for her role in Epstein’s serial abuse — which saw her recruit and arrange young women for him to sexually exploit.

She was quietly moved to a minimum security prison in Texas known as “Club Fed” last month after her DOJ interviews with Blanche.
