Yankees-Red Sox has the ingredients again to reawaken dormant rivalry

It lies dormant sometimes, the way volcanos do. Mount Vesuvius, remember, was still and inactive for a thousand years. The citizens of Pompeii and Herculaneum believed for centuries that they’d heard her last rumble. The citizens of Pompeii and Herculaneum, alas, were incorrect.

And around 79 AD, Vesuvius showed them just how wrong they were.
