Jennifer Lopez shows off blond hair in ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ trailer
Talk about blond ambition.
Jennifer Lopez debuted platinum Old Hollywood waves in the dazzling new trailer for “The Kiss of the Spider Woman.”
The movie musical’s fantasy sequences showcase the superstar’s chameleonic beauty —J.Lo appears as Ingrid Luna (also known as Aurora or the Spider Woman) in cascading Veronica Lake-style curls; thin, penciled-on brows; and bold red lips, a complete aesthetic reboot from her usual glowy bronzed palette.
She doubled down on transformation with a second, stark‑contrast look: a black bob with spiky bangs that’s part Louise Brooks, part Winona Ryder in “Beetlejuice,” a fitting choice for the film’s darker undertones and dual-world narrative.
The first official look, shared on Wednesday, also offers a peek at the ensembles created by costume designer Colleen Atwood, a four-time Oscar winner renowned for her work on movies like “Chicago,” “Memoirs of a Geisha” and “Alice in Wonderland.”
Lopez, 56, looks every bit the classic screen siren in a sparkling liquid-gold gown and matching metallic pumps, as well as a sequined cap-sleeve dancefloor dress with flapper-style fringe.
The Bronx-born star also has her showgirl moment in an artfully draped acid-green mini with matching cropped jacket and an emerald necklace.
Directed by Bill Condon, who helmed “Dreamgirls,” the film pairs Lopez with Diego Luna and is backed by producers including Ben Affleck, from whom the actress filed for divorce last year.
“Spider Woman,” out on Oct. 10, already made waves at Sundance earlier this year, where an early cut reportedly drew a standing ovation.
The “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” singer has been teasing her new role with a parade of glamorous, spiderweb-inspired ensembles in recent months: In May, she stepped out in an open knit Zuhair Murad dress with a dramatic taffeta shawl.
At the 2025 Sundance Film Festival premiere a few months earlier, she wore a long-sleeve sheer lace gown by Albanian designer Valdrin Sahiti with all-over rhinestone web embellishment.
We can only imagine Lopez has some increasingly spooky looks coming this fall.
