Is ‘Relay’ Streaming on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video?

Riz Ahmed and Lily James are up no good in Relay, the new thriller opening in movie theaters this weekend.

Directed by David Mackenzie (known for films like Hell or High Water and Outlaw King), with a script written by Justin Piasecki, Relay stars Ahmed as Tom, who helps corrupt corporations get out of sticky situations. Tom likes to stay anonymous, but his typical way of doing business is upended by a particularly desperate (and particularly beautiful) client named Sarah (Lily James). Will Tom change his rules for her?

The Relay cast also includes Sam Worthington, Willa Fitzgerald, Matthew Maher, Victor Garber, Eisa Davis, Jared Abrahamson, and more. Relay first premiered at the Toronto Film Festival last year to positive reviews, and now the movie is finally coming to the big screen for more audiences to see.

Where to watch the 2025 movie Relay:

For now, Relay will only be available to watch in a movie theater, when it opens in select theaters in the U.S. on Friday, August 22. You can find a showing near you via Fandango. Relay is not yet available to watch online or on streaming.

Is the Relay 2025 movie streaming on Netflix or Prime Video?

Relay is not streaming on Netflix or Prime Video right now. While it’s possible Relay may stream on Netflix someday, it won’t be until after the theatrical run and digital release of the movie. Relay is not a Netflix original—it’s a small, independent film being distributed by Bleeker Street in the U.S. Never say never, but most of the recent Bleeker Street movies have not gone on to stream on Netflix.

You will be able to purchase Relay on Prime Video eventually, when the movie becomes available to buy and rent on digital, but you will not be able to stream Relay on Prime Video free with a Prime subscription any time soon, because it is not a Prime original movie. If you want to watch Relay movie at home, you’ll have to wait for the film to be available to buy or rent on digital platforms.

When will the Relay movie be on digital?

Relay‘s digital release date has not yet been announced. However, we can make an educated guess as to when we might see Relay on video-on-demand, based on the digital release of previous films from this studio, Bleeker Street.

Another Bleeker Street movie, The Wedding Banquet, was released on digital platforms about one month after opening in theaters. If Relay follows a similar pattern, you might see Relay on video-on-demand around late September 2025.
