Collin Gosselin pleads for estranged siblings to get to know him in new video
Collin Gosselin is pleading for his estranged siblings to get to know him in a new heart-wrenching video.
“Unfortunately, I don’t talk to my siblings, and I very much wish that we did and that they knew who I actually was because we don’t know each other at all,” he said in a TikTok Live Wednesday.
“It’s still a little tough to talk about these things and to do social media in general,” he admitted.
Gosselin, 21, explained that he wants to be more active on social media to communicate with his estranged siblings and use it as “a journal to make videos and hope[s] that they see them.”
“As you can see, I don’t post on Instagram, I don’t post on TikTok much,” he said. “I’m still getting in the groove of things, but, you know, I’ve realized I love to share my videos with you guys.”
The “Kate Plus 8” alum shared that he still keeps in touch with one of his seven siblings, Hannah, but they don’t get to see each other as much as he would like to since they are both in college and have busy schedules.
“I do still talk to Hannah,” he replied to a fan. “I actually just texted her today, you know, she’s in college doing her thing. I always say, though, Hannah’s just very like, living the life, you know, like having fun, always doing something, so we catch up when we can.”
Earlier this month, Collin penned another heartbreaking message to his siblings on TikTok, claiming that they were “forced apart.”
“Born to be a team, us against the world…” he wrote atop a throwback photo of him and his seven siblings.
In the second photo, Collin wore sunglasses while driving a car. “Forced to do it alone, and wonder every day what our lives could’ve looked like,” he wrote atop the pic.
In the caption of the post, he wrote an emotional message dedicated to his brothers and sisters.
“Forced apart, pitted against each other,” he began. “All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids?”
“I will always love them more than anything,” Collin wrote of twin sisters Madelyn and Cara, 24, and fellow sextuplets Alexis, Leah, Hannah, Aaden and Joel, 21.
“The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could’ve shared. I love you guys,” Collin completed his heartbreaking post before adding a red heart emoji.
Collin has been outspoken about his dismay toward his mother, Kate Gosselin, claiming she singled him out in front of his siblings and accusing her of horrific abuse while in her care.
Last year, he told the US Sun that the former reality star “zip-tied” and locked him in a basement when he was a child.
Kate, 50, shares her eight children with ex-husband Jon Gosselin, 48. The couple divorced in 2009 and Kate got primary physical custody of all of the kids.
In 2016, Kate sent Collin to a mental institution when he was 12 years old, claiming her son had “special needs.”
After begging his father to release him from the institution, Jon got custody of him and Hannah in 2018. Collin was released from the psychiatric hospital that year, resulting in a full blown family feud.
Despite Collin blaming his mother for his estrangement from the rest of his siblings, the “Dancing with the Stars” alum seemingly denied that she had any involvement in it last week.
“He knows why..😢” Kate responded to a TikTok user who commented on her post with a screenshot of Collin’s video about being “forced apart.”
Kate also seemed to rub her children’s “wonderful” bond in Collin’s face in a TikTok video she shared on Aug. 15, just a few days after his poignant message.
“The most wonderful thing is when the kids come home for the holidays and they’re all catching up because they live in different places or go to different colleges,” Kate said. “I get to listen to them catching up and be a part of that.”
“We cook big meals together,” she added. “It’s really loud here and I love it, I love hearing their laughter. They get along really great, and it’s really wonderful.”
