Zelensky gives Trump golf putter from Ukrainian soldier who lost leg in combat
President Trump received an engraved golf putter from a Ukrainian soldier who found solace in the game after losing his leg fighting off Russian invaders, The Post has learned.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented Trump with the club — engraved with the phrase “Let’s putt peace together!” — in the Oval Office on behalf of Junior Sgt. Kostyantyn Kartavsev.
Kartavtsev golfs on an artificial leg thanks to the Ukrainian Golf Federation’s United By Golf program, which focuses on rehabilitation.

“This is a gift from a man who knows the true price of peace,” United By Golf said in a statement. “Like all those on the frontlines today, he continues to defend our freedom.”
”I know a lot about golf, and your swing is great,” Trump, an avid golfer and fan, told Kartavtsev in a video message after Zelensky showed a clip of the soldier on the course.
“It looks beautiful, and you’re going to be a very good golfer very soon, but I also want to thank you for this putter.
”It’s beautiful and it’s made with real love, and it’s given to me with real love from you, and I appreciate that.”
“Every time I sink a putt, I’ll be thinking of you,” the president joked.
Trump further said Ukraine “is a great country,” adding that he and Zelensky were “trying to bring it back to health.
“Your president is working very, very hard to make it that way,” Trump said of Zelensky.
“The veteran community of the United By Golf club thanks Donald Trump for his leadership on the path to peace for Ukraine and his kind words to our brother-in-arms,” the group said.
