‘Today’s Savannah Guthrie Teases Jenna Bush Hager By Asking If Boys Ever “Dropped By” The “Governor’s Mansion” When Her Father Was Governor Of Texas: “I Bet They Did!”

Savannah Guthrie couldn’t help but tease Jenna Bush Hager on Jenna & Friends today after she shared a “humiliating” experience she once had when her father, former U.S. President George W. Bush, was the governor of Texas.

During Tuesday’s broadcast, Guthrie explained that she wanted her children to be able to go on real dates one day and hoped their suitor would knock on the door and introduce themselves. “I want someone to knock on the door and be like, ‘Hello Ms. Guthrie,’” she told Bush Hager. But Bush Hager wasn’t so sure.

“Although, I will say that’s so humiliating. Because I did have a boy knock on the door and ask if I could go roller blading to 7-Eleven,” Bush Hager responded.

“Was it at the governor’s mansion?” Guthrie teased.

Bush Hager responded with a deadpan, “No.” She then slyly added, “Although, a couple of boys dropped by there too,” to which Guthrie said, “I bet they did!”

Bush Hager recounted the “humiliating” experience to Guthrie of listening to the boy ask her mother if she could go rollerblading with him.

“And we rollerbladed and got a Bar None in the 7-Eleven and a slurpee,” she said. “Tell me you’re a 90s kid with that combo.” Bush Hager also denied that there was “any smoochy-smoochy,” as Guthrie asked.

Earlier on in their conversation, Guthrie left Bush Hager shocked when she revealed that she didn’t go on her first “real date” until she was 20 years old.

“For your first date?!” Bush Hager said in shock.

“We’ve discussed this many times. I wasn’t exactly – my phone was not ringing off the hook,” Guthrie explained. “So I don’t consider that I went on any real dates at all.”

She clarified that she later kissed “a couple” of boys in high school, which seemed to relieve Bush Hager.

“Okay then, you’re fine,” she said.
