Dolphins signing four-time Pro Bowler Matthew Judon

Matthew Judon will be a member of the Dolphins this season after he signed a one-year deal Monday.

The deal is worth up to $6 million, according to NFL Network, and occurred after he visited the organization on Monday.

The four-time Pro Bowler spent last season with the Falcons after he was traded by the Patriots for a third-round pick.

He went on to appear in 17 games, recording 41 tackles, 5.5 sacks and a career-high five passes defended.

Judon, 33, also recorded his first career interception last season.

He had spent five seasons with the Ravens, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft and joined the Patriots organization in 2021 after he signed a four-year, $56 million deal.

He made his four Pro Bowl appearances from 2019-22.

Judon is joining a Miami squad that has defensive stars like Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips and Chop Robinson, who will look to make life miserable for the Jets in the AFC East.

While the trio had dealt with injury issues in the past, Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that there shouldn’t be anyone thinking Judon’s visit has anything to do with injuries.

He said, according to the Palm Beach Post, that he was “visiting for the sake of seeing if there’s a situation that both parties would be able to come into an agreement of, ‘Hey, this is a situation that fits.’”

The former Patriot will see his new team early in the season when the Dolphins host New England in Week 2, and he’ll see the Falcons in Week 8 in Atlanta.
