Chris Martin defends keeping the Coldplay kiss cam after Astronomer ‘debacle’

Viva la vida.

Chris Martin has no plans to ditch the kiss cam at Coldplay concerts after the now-viral moment when he caught former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron allegedly cheating with the company’s former HR chief, Kristin Cabot.

“We’ve been doing [the Jumbotron] a long time, and it is only recently that it became a … yeah,” the frontman told the crowd at the band’s “Music of the Spheres” World Tour stop in Hull, England, on Monday, per HullLive.

“Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade. So, we are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you.”

While interacting with the audience, Martin, 48, also took a moment to read some signs, including one from a fan who attended the show “three times in three months.”

“You were at that Boston gig,” the “Fix You” singer said.

“Well, OK, thank you for coming again after that debacle,” he added, referring to when Byron and Cabot were spotted canoodling on the kiss cam during the band’s tour stop at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts last month.

“Whoa, look at these two,” Martin said at the time, as Byron and Cabot immediately hid from the camera. “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

It was later revealed that they were both married to other people.

After the video went viral, Andy’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, removed her surname from Facebook before deleting her profile.

As for Kristin, she’s believed to be married to Andrew Cabot, the CEO of Privateer Rum.

Andy and Kristin were put on leave from Astronomer as the company launched an investigation into the kiss cam fiasco.

Less than 24 hours later, Page Six confirmed that Andy had resigned from his position at the tech company.

Astronomer denounced the behavior, with a spokesperson telling Page Six in a statement that the company’s “leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.”

“Recently, that standard was not met,” the statement added.

Later that month, Kristin was photographed without her wedding ring while watering flowers outside of her Massachusetts home.

While Andy has yet to be publicly seen, his neighbors slammed his alleged cheating scandal as “disgusting.”
