Tottenham vs. Burnley odds, picks, and prediction

The Thomas Frank era at Tottenham should get underway with a bang on Saturday.

The much-hyped manager will lead Spurs as a robust -265 favorite over newly-promoted Burnley, who have yo-yo’d back to the Premier League thanks to a second-place finish in the Championship in 2024-25.

Burnley are the betting favorites to finish dead last in the Premier League this season, which tells you why oddsmakers are not giving them much of a chance to pull the upset in North London on Saturday.

Frank did a masterful job guiding Brentford to the Premier League and not only keeping them there but securing two top-half finishes in four seasons. The Dane was considered to be the top choice for a number of big clubs, but he wanted to keep his hands on the wheel at Brentford until the right fit presented itself.

That, apparently, was Tottenham.

Spurs had an odd 2024-25 campaign under Ange Postecoglou. They finished 17th, one spot (but 13 points) ahead of the relegation zone, but they also won the Europa League, ending a 17-year trophy drought.

Tottenham was beset by injuries, but they really struggled defensively, and their attack sputtered at times, too.

Frank will re-imagine things, and his Brentford teams were always dogged and well organized, two traits that Tottenham lacked in recent years.

The challenge for Frank will be his transition from managing a scrappy, upstart team to one of the richest clubs in Europe.

For most of his time in the Premier League, Frank managed Brentford to sit back and counter because they were underdogs and wouldn’t control the match. The opposite will now be true, and he will need to get his bearings as he faces plenty of opponents who will sit back in a low block against Spurs.

Tottenham should have too much to offer Burnley going forward, but it could be a scrappy affair as the Clarets dig deep and force Spurs to break them down.

You can build a same-game parlay using Spurs and the Under 2.5 goals for a +245 payout.
