Prince William and Kate Middleton relocating to new family home for ‘fresh start’ after cancer battle

Prince William and Kate Middleton are ready for new beginnings after a rough few years.

The royal couple will relocate to a new family home with their three children, Prince George,12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, “later this year,” a spokesperson confirmed to People Saturday.

The Wales family has been residing at Adelaide Cottage, located near Windsor Castle in Berkshire, England. They moved there in 2022 to be close to the children’s Lambrook School.

Their new home will reportedly be close by, as the Sun reports they are moving into an eight-bedroom property called Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park. It is worth approximately $21 million.

“Windsor has become their home,” an insider told the outlet of William and Middleton’s reasoning for wanting to stay in the same neighborhood.

“However, over the last few years while they have lived at Adelaide Cottage there have been some really difficult times,” the insider continued.

The Daily Mail previously reported that the Wales family was moving because they had “outgrown” their current home, but it appears that Middleton’s cancer diagnosis in March 2024 played a factor.

The Princess of Wales, 43, revealed earlier this year that she had gone into remission.

“Moving gives them an opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter; an opportunity to leave some of the more unhappy memories behind,” a source told the Sun.

The insider also noted that the Wales family sees the move as a “long-term” one into their “forever home.”

William, 43, and Middleton are reportedly paying for the full cost to renovate their dream house at no cost to taxpayers. Per the Sun, they will not have any live-in staff, either.

Reps for the royals did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
