Mets calling up top prospect Nolan McLean to start Saturday
The Mets are giving the kid a chance.
Nolan McLean, one of the Mets’ top prospects, will be called up to start Saturday’s game against the red-hot Mariners, The Post’s Jon Heyman confirmed.
McLean will be taking the rotation spot of Frankie Montas, who has struggled and was moved to the bullpen Tuesday.

The 24-year-old has a 2.78 ERA in 16 games (13 starts) with 97 strikeouts in 87 ⅓ innings for Triple-A Syracuse this season.
He recorded a 1.37 ERA across five starts for Double-A Binghamton.
McLean is ranked as the top pitcher and the No. 3 overall prospect in the Mets’ system by MLB.com.
