Malik Nabers’ behavior nothing to celebrate as he navigates Giants hype

I’m not a particularly fast learner. Heck, I still can’t figure out how our toaster works. But by the time I was 12, I could recognize hype — and that was well before the word was invented.

You see, every March, the “Sporting News,” with correspondents dispatched to all 16 spring training sites, would inform me that all 16 major league teams were primed to win the pennant. This was going to be their year! All 16 of them!

That brings us to today and the preseason reports, written and broadcast, from both Jets and Giants camp.
