‘Heartbroken’ Ed Kelce mourning death of girlfriend Maureen Maguire

A “heartbroken” Ed Kelce is picking up the pieces following the devastating death of his girlfriend, Maureen Maguire, who passed away Friday at the age of 74.

“He’s feeling an enormous void,” a source told People on Monday regarding Ed, the father of NFL superstars Travis and Jason Kelce.

“… Maureen wasn’t just his partner, she was his person.”

Ed revealed Maguire’s death over the weekend on his Facebook page, where he shared a link to her obituary via the Pennsylvania-based Stretch Funeral Home, which noted she “passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.”

“Maureen found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved the beach — especially the shore — and had a deep affection for dogs,” the message read.

“In recent years, she spent treasured time in Cape May with her family, enjoying peaceful days by the ocean. She also grew an unexpected love for football later in life, sharing many laughs and adventures with her beloved friend Ed Kelce and her loyal dog Butch. Together, they traveled often and attended football games and concerts, and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life to the fullest.”

Maguire attended games with Ed and even shared a special moment with Travis’ girlfriend, pop megastar Taylor Swift.

The Kelce patriarch reflected on the interaction in a 2024 interview with the Los Angeles Times, in which Ed posed for a photo with Swift as Maguire playfully interjected, “Hey, that’s my boyfriend.”

Ed shares Jason, 37, and Travis, 35, with Donna Kelce, to whom he was married for nearly 25 years. They parted ways after their sons’ college graduations, according to People.

The family has reunited on game days, whether supporting Travis and the Chiefs or when Jason played for the Eagles from 2011 to 2023. Jason retired in March 2024 after 13 seasons in Philadelphia.

The Kelces ventured to New Orleans in February, when the Chiefs were crushed by the Eagles in Super Bowl 2025, 40-22.

Travis will kick off his 13th NFL season next month when the Chiefs travel to Brazil to face the Chargers on Sept. 5.
