On Sunday night, Sydney Sweeney stepped out for the “Americana” premiere amid backlash over her American Eagle ad, and her red carpet look is getting roasted on social media.

The “Euphoria” actress and her stylist, Molly Dickson — who also worked on the controversial campaign — chose a custom butter yellow Danielle Frankel gown for the occasion, complete with a thick matching headband.

The dress featured a high-shine corset-style top and tulle skirt that hit right around her ankles, showcasing her pointy-toed heels.

The comment section on @checkthetag’s post of her look is heating up, with many playing off the AE campaign’s tagline, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.”

“Who’s responsible for her bad fashion genes?” one user quipped. Another echoed them, writing, “Genes with a bad taste”

“Are you auditioning for Oklahoma?” a third joked — referencing a scene in “Euphoria” Season 2 where everyone thought Sweeney’s character, Cassie, was trying out for the play due to her country-bumpkin getup.

Others poked fun at Sweeney’s recently revealed voter registration, with one person quipping, “Whoever styled her found out she’s a Republican lol.”

Still more blamed Dickson for the red carpet look. “Why does her stylist hate her 😢” one said. Another added, “That headband and the vomit yellow my God…whoever styled her has beef with her.”

American Eagle has been in hot water since launching the controversial campaign on July 23.

“Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality and even eye color. My jeans are blue,” Sweeney said in the video ad, which has since been removed from American Eagle’s social media platforms.

American Eagle, however, responded to the backlash on Instagram last week.

“‘Sydney Sweeney Has Great Jeans’ is and always was about the jeans,” the retailer wrote in a post.

“Her jeans. Her Story. We’ll continue to celebrate how everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence, their way. Great jeans look good on everyone.”
