Is ‘Tracker’ On Tonight? ‘Tracker’ Season 3 Return Date On CBS

Our Sunday Scaries are at an all-time high without new episodes of Tracker on CBS. But after months of wondering when Justin Hartley’s hit survivalist drama would return for Season 3 and which characters would be returning, we finally have answers!

Tracker’s Season 2 finale, which premiered all the way back on May 11, saw Colter Shaw (Hartley) head home for a job, visit his mom Mary Dove Shaw (Wendy Crewson), and learn some jaw-dropping revelations about the death of his father, Ashton Shaw (Lee Tergesen). For those who need a refresher, Colter’s mom was involved in the death! So we need more info ASAP!

“I know we’ll get to the nitty-gritty of why my mother hired this guy,” Hartley told Variety in a recent interview teasing Season 3. “Was she protecting her kids? Was an affair happening? Was the government involved? Was it strictly just my mother? Why did she hide that from us for so long? Why did she lead me to believe that it was my brother who was involved when he wasn’t? It seems like this divide-and-conquer thing that she’s doing. It was just an odd thing to do with your children. There’s some deep psychosis there. We’ll unpack that.”

When Tracker does return for Season 3, the show will also look a bit different, as two key cast members departed after Season 2: Eric Graise (Bobby) and Abby McEnany (Velma). But the Season 3 casting updates aren’t all bad! Fiona Rene, who plays Reenie, will remain as the sole original cast member aside from Hartley. And on Thursday, July 31, fan-favorite guest star Jensen Ackles confirmed he’s returning as Colter’s brother Russell by posting an Instagram video of himself on set.

So when does Tracker Season 3 return with new episodes on CBS? And is Tracker is on tonight, August 3, 2025? Here’s everything to know about the future of Tracker on CBS, including Tracker’s Season 3 premiere date, Tracker streaming info, and more.

Is Tracker On Tonight (8/3/25)?

Technically, yes! Tracker is on tonight, Sunday, August 27, 2025. But there’s no new episode on. Instead, CBS will be re-airing TWO Tracker Season 2 episodes:

  • Season 2, Episode 2, “Ontological Shock” (9:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET): “When Colter suddenly disappears during his search for a missing father, Reenie recruits his brother, Russell, for help.”
  • Season 2, Episode 3, “Bloodlines”(10:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. ET): “Colter and rival rewardist Billie Matalon team up to find a missing high school baseball star.”

Will There Be A Tracker Season 3?

So is Tracker eventually returning with new episodes? Yes! On February 20, 2025, CBS renewed the popular survivalist drama for Season 3, which makes sense, since CBS reported that Tracker hit over 18 million multiplatform viewers in February, a four percent increase from the prior year. On May 7, 2025, CBS claimed another big win when Tracker took the top spot in the network’s 2024-2025 season, averaging 17.5 million broadcast and streaming viewers per episode, according to a 35-day Nielsen streaming report. So when will Colter and co. be back with new episodes?
