Isaiah Davis has over-the-shoulder grab, stock rises at Jets camp


Observations from Jets’ training camp on Saturday.

Isaiah Davis made a nice over-the-shoulder catch on a wheel route down the left sideline on a well-placed pass from Tyrod Taylor. Head coach Aaron Glenn said after practice, “He is a guy that we have to make sure we get on the field as much as possible.”

Juuust A Bit Outside

Nick Folk missed a roughly 43-yard field goal attempt, though he made his other four kicks during the green-and white scrimmage. Harrison Mevis went just 2-for-5, missing from roughly 42, 47 and 52 yards.

Caught my eye

Jeremy Ruckert laid a big block on Tony Adams near the left sideline just in front of the end zone to pave the way for a Justin Fields rushing touchdown. He was embraced by his teammates afterward.

Injury report

Xavier Gipson (shoulder) Kris Boyd (shoulder) and Jaylin Simpson (hamstring) suffered injuries during the scrimmage. Josh Reynolds also limped off the field with an apparent leg injury.
