Hot-headed Florida golfer allegedly clobbers fellow player over slow pace

It was a stroke of rage.

A hot-headed golfer was arrested last week after losing his temper and clobbering another player for moving too slowly on a Florida fairway, cops said.

Jason Hughes was hit with aggravated assault charges over the on-course brawl that erupted in June after the fiery putter repeatedly pressured the victim, who was golfing ahead of him on the Kissimmee course, to speed up his pace, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, Fox 35 reported.

Police said Hughes flew into a rage when he spotted the victim chatting with his friend on the green.

The temperamental linksman approached the unsuspecting victim and relentlessly pummeled him in the face until both of their playing partners intervened to break up the fight, the outlet reported.

The victim was left bloodied and bruised as Hughes sped away in his golf cart, police said.

He was eventually cuffed and booked at Osceola County Jail on July 24, after authorities tracked him down through the credit card he used to reserve his heated round of golf.

Hughes was released on a $2,500 bond and is reportedly barred from playing golf on any public course.
