Mikal Bridges’ extension one of three tasks still on Knicks’ offseason list



The roster is basically set. The head coach is hired. The depth chart, for the most part, is easy to plot.

As the calendar approaches the dead month of the NBA schedule, the heavy lifting of the Knicks offseason feels finished. But smaller tasks remain, with three in particular that merit further analysis.

At the risk of contradicting the message of this column’s introduction, this decision is significant.

Bridges has been eligible since the end of the NBA Finals to negotiate a contract extension that maxes out at four years, $156 million.
