Lindsay Lohan nods to her ‘Parent Trap’ characters while promoting ‘Freakier Friday’
Honey, you never looked better.
Though Lindsay Lohan is currently promoting her forthcoming film “Freakier Friday,” she paid homage to her breakthrough role as twins Annie James and Hallie Parker from “The Parent Trap” in back-to-back looks Monday morning.
The child star first appeared on “Good Morning America,” clad in a yellow tartan Balmain look, which referenced two separate Annie outfits from the 1998 movie, according to her stylist Andrew Mukamal, who posted the outfits on Instagram.
In the beginning of the film, Annie arrived at summer camp in a plaid jacket and skirt set with a coordinating headband.
The look appeared again later on in the movie, when butler Martin picks up Annie (technically Hallie, who was impersonating her sister) from the airport after camp ended.
Lohan, who was only 12 at the time, also wore a butter yellow ribbed cardigan and a complementing plaid headband in another scene.
For the talk show, Lohan accessorized the Balmain getup with a sunny yellow headband, Oliver Peoples tortoiseshell sunglasses and a structured black Hermès Kelly bag.
“This is really personal for me,” one fan commented on Mukamal’s post. “I have class and you don’t. Iconic.💛,” another said, referencing one of Annie’s lines in the movie.
However, many also compared the outfit to Cher Horowitz’s famous yellow plaid blazer and pleated skirt set.
After all, it would be a fitting time for a “Clueless” tribute, as the film celebrated its 30th anniversary on July 19.
For her second press tour appearance today, she headed to “Live with Kelly and Mark” in an outfit inspired by California-cool twin Hallie.
The actress channeled her character’s pastel pink cap-sleeved silk dress with a multi-color printed Roberto Cavalli number featuring various birds and flowers.
She accented the piece with a tiny mini bag and strappy beige pumps.
“actually out of breath from screaming how good this is 🙌,” one person wrote on Mukamal’s second Instagram post. A second added, “after barbie you can trust andrew mukamal to nail referential styling”
Meanwhile, for the Los Angeles premiere of “Freakier Friday,” Lohan was outfitted in a pale pink Miu Miu gown with draping, pleated detailing and crystal embroidery.
Out on August 8, the sequel film also stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Chad Michael Murray, who are both reprising their roles from the original 2003 movie.
With such luminous skin and more youthful than ever looks, it appears Lohan is pulling a “Freaky Friday” with her own younger self.
