Subway manager locks up 10-year-old girl for walking on floor he just mopped: officials
A Subway manager in Florida was arrested after allegedly locking a 10-year-old girl in a back room after she walked on a freshly mopped floor in the eatery, according to reports and authorities.
James Anthony Morris Jr., 33, was nabbed Monday for false imprisonment after the bizarre incident at the sandwich shop in Jacksonville, Law & Crime reported, citing an arrest report from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

The 10-year-old girl had entered the store with her mother and stepped on a wet area of the floor that Morris had just cleaned, the outlet reported.
When the mom asked her daughter to apologize, Morris allegedly grabbed the girl’s hand and dragged her into a back room — locking the door, the report detailed.
When Morris brought her to the room, he even “gripped her hand even tighter,” and told her that her parents were “trash and terrible people,” the outlet said.
At first, the mother thought the sandwich handler was joking, but panic set in when she couldn’t open the door, the outlet reported.
Morris allegedly pushed it shut, sparking a scuffle between the two, cops said.
The panicked mom eventually pried the door open and freed her daughter while shouting for help, according to the outlet.

Another Subway employee told cops he saw Morris pull the girl away and heard the “commotion,” calling the manager’s behavior “weird,” the arrest report said.
The girl, who was trapped for two minutes, later told police she believed she was being kidnapped and was “really scared,” the outlet said.
Morris refused to make a statement to cops and was charged with false imprisonment of a child under 13 and booked into jail.
He was later released on $5,000 bond, outlets reported.
He will return to court on Aug. 13.
