Meet the Kids of ‘The Gilded Age’ Cast
NEED TO KNOW
- The Gilded Age is currently in its third season
- The cast members have at least 19 children between them
- Both Christine Baranski and Jack Gilpin have daughters who’ve pursued acting careers
Despite the lavish setting portrayed on-screen, the cast of The Gilded Age always welcome their kids for a set visit.
The Gilded Age, now in its third season, follows a young woman named Marian Brook (Louisa Jacobson) who moves from rural Pennsylvania to live with her wealthy aunts, Agnes van Rhijn (Christine Baranski) and Ada Brook (Cynthia Nixon), following the death of her father.
Set in 1880s New York City, Marian becomes entangled in the social world of New York’s elite, particularly with railroad tycoon George Russell (Morgan Spector) and his wife Bertha (Carrie Coon).
Coon, who has two children with her husband, Tracy Letts, and Spector, who shares one child with his wife, Rebecca Hall, told PEOPLE in June 2025 that their kids have joined them at work on several occasions.
“It’s great to bring kids to set, and I’ve always found that the crew is always really lovely and generous about it,” Coon said, with Spector adding, “Everyone has kids that they’re not getting to see. So they’re starved to see a child.”

Coon and Letts wed in 2013 and have since welcomed two children.
Their son, Haskell, was born on March 13, 2018, and is named after his late great-grandfather, Charles Haskell Letts. The couple’s daughter, whose name has not been made public, arrived in the summer of 2021.
Coon told Harper’s Bazaar in June 2021 that her husband’s work ethic intensified after she became pregnant.
“When I got pregnant with our son, Tracy really went into overdrive,” she told the outlet. “It was as though there was some biological imperative to take care of his family that kicked in. He just said, ‘yes,’ to everything.”

While speaking to PEOPLE in June 2025, Spector recalled a time when Ida visited him on The Gilded Age set.
“I brought my daughter to the set in Newport so she could see the mansions, and the costume department immediately saw her, grabbed her, took her into a trailer and somebody did some magic and turned her into a princess,” the actor shared. “They gave her one of Bertha’s tiaras, and she was overjoyed.”

Following her split from Mozes, Nixon married her wife, Christine Marinoni, in 2012 when same-sex marriage was officially legalized in the state of New York. The couple added their son, Max, to their blended family in 2011.
Nixon always knew she wanted to be a mother.
“I went into parenthood thinking, ‘This is something I’m really up for,’ ” Nixon told PARENTS in 2008.

Watching her parents perform throughout her childhood sparked Betty’s passion for acting and ultimately inspired her to follow in their footsteps.
“Both of my parents are actors, so I grew up backstage with them. I would see some of their shows 30, 40, 50 times. I would have it all memorized. I loved it,” she wrote on Reddit in 2023.
