Dylan Walsh pay tribute to ‘Nip/Tuck’ co-star Julian McMahon
Dylan Walsh is remembering his “Nip/Tuck” co-star.
After Julian McMahon died on Wednesday at the age of 56 following a private battle with cancer, the “Unforgettable” alum, 61, shared a touching message for the late actor.
“Dear Jules, I know you like to flout the boundaries but this time you’ve gone too far.” Walsh said in an exclusive statement to the New York Post on Saturday. “Let’s meet at the Biltmore, have a martini and we’ll talk this through. “
“We’ll laugh hard, the valet will bring up your Hummer, and right behind my hatchback with car seats and birdshit on the window,” he went on, “we’ve laughed at this too many times. Now it’s just us. You’ll kiss me on the cheek and say ‘Bye Dyl. Goodbye, Jules.”
Walsh previously told Deadline after news broke on Friday: “I’m stunned. We rode this wave together and I loved him.”
“My heart goes out to Kelly and [his daughter] Maddy,” he continued. “Jules! I know you’d want me to say something to make you smile — all the inside jokes. All those years you had my back, and my god, we laughed. My heart is with you. Rest in peace.”
“Nip/Tuck,” which aired for six seasons from 2003 to 2010, followed longtime friends Dr. Sean McNamara (Walsh) and Dr. Christian Troy (McMahon), who ran a plastic surgery practice together.
Kelly Carlson, who played Kimber Henry on medical drama, took to Instagram on Friday, to share her thoughts on the “Charmed” vet’s death.
“I just heard about the passing of Julian McMahon,” the actress, 49, began in a video, “and I’ve gotten a lot of really nice messages on Instagram and I just checked ‘cause I was just told and I was trying to verify it, right? Because people can say stuff like that, but it looks to be true — and oh, my gosh, I’m completely shocked and saddened by it.”
Touching on his health, Carlson admitted, “I didn’t know he wasn’t well for a while. But I will say my heart goes out to Kelly, his wife, his daughter and Brooke Burns, his ex-wife, who they remain close friends and raise their daughter together and I think he has a sister…”
“The Marine” alum opened up about all of the good times she had portraying McMahon’s wife on the hit FX show.
“It’s tough to process a little bit because he played my on-and-off husband for several years, [he] was a good friend and my acting partner,” Carlson explained. “Anyways, Jules, thank you for a great seven years on ‘Nip/Tuck’ together and we had so much fun.”
“I hope he had a peaceful journey. I wish him a peaceful journey and I know he had a full, great life so that’s a good thing.”
Roma Maffia, who worked with McMahon on both “Nip/Tuck” and the 1996 drama “Profiler,” also expressed her condolences. She told The Post on Saturday, “Julian was one of a kind and will be very missed.”
McMahon’s wife, Kelly, confirmed the heartbreaking news in a statement to The Post Saturday morning, noting that the “Fantastic Four” actor died in Clearwater, Florida.
“With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer,” she detailed. “Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.”
Kelly asked for privacy during this time but noted she and her family “are grateful for the memories.”
Most recently, McMahon starred in the 2024 film “The Surfer” alongside Nicolas Cage, as well as the 2025 Netflix murder mystery series “The Residence.”
Cage, 61, told The Post on Saturday, “Such deeply saddening news. I spent six weeks working with Julian, and he was the most talented of actors. Our scenes together on “The Surfer” were amongst my favorite I have ever participated in, and Julian is one of my favorite people. He was a kind and intelligent man. My love to his family.”
