Jose Butto placed on IL as Mets’ injury woes continues

Another Mets pitcher is injured.

Jose Butto has been placed on the injured list with an illness, the team announced Friday before the opener of the three-game Subway Series at Citi Field.

The team recalled Chris Devenski from Triple-A to replace him.

Butto, 27, is 2-1 with a 2.47 ERA spanning 43 2/3 innings across 31 outings.

He last pitched June 28 against the Pirates and missed the entire Brewers series.

The Mets’ bullpen has taken hits in recent days, with Dedniel Núñez also landing on the injured list Friday and possibly needing Tommy John surgery in what could be a tough blow.
